BROADSIDE
Two fleets of pirate ships, up to four on each side, sail around islands with their cannons blazing. Your guns are on the sides of your ship, so turn side-on, aim and fire a whole broadside at once. Sink the other fleet's ships to score: the first fleet to the target wins. Earn gold for every hit and sink, and spend it in your harbor on five ships, from the little Sloop to the mighty Galleon, ten kinds of cannon and three abilities. Grab power-up barrels floating in open water. Play friends online with a room code, or practise against bots.

HOW TO PLAY
- On a computer: click the game to aim with the mouse. A and D steer, W and S raise and lower the sails, the left mouse button or Space fires, E uses your ability and B opens the shop. Press 1 to 6 for emotes, and Esc to let go of the mouse.
- On a phone or tablet: drag sideways on the left to steer and on the right to aim. Hold FIRE to shoot (slide your thumb on it to aim as you go), and use the arrows for the sails.
- Cannons are on the sides. Look left or right and fire: that whole side shoots, then reloads. The other side has its own guns, so turn and fire again.
- Aim higher to shoot further. A ring on the water shows where your cannonballs will land. Islands stop cannonballs, so you can hide behind them.
- Your harbor is by your fort. Your ship mends fast there, and the fort fires on enemy ships that sail in.
- Gold and the shop: you earn gold for hits and sinks. Spend it in your harbor on bigger ships, cannons like Chain Shot, Fire Shot and the Mortar, and abilities like Full Sail, Patch Up and the Powder Keg. What you buy lasts for the battle.
- Power-up barrels float up in open water: Speed Wind, Heavy Shot, Quick Reload, Iron Hull and Kraken Ink. Sail over one and it lasts 45 seconds.
Rooms: make a public room for anyone to join, a private room for friends with its four-letter code, or practise with bots. The host picks the sea, how long the battle lasts and how many sinks win.
PUT IT ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
The best way to play is from Broadside's own icon on your desktop or home screen. It opens like an app, without the browser around it. Press Play it now first, then:
Windows or Chromebook (Chrome or Edge)
Click the Install button at the right of the address bar. Or open the browser's menu (⋮ or …) and choose Install Broadside (in Edge: Apps, then Install this site as an app).
iPhone or iPad
In Safari, tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android phone or tablet
In Chrome, tap the menu (⋮), then Add to Home screen or Install app.
Mac (Safari)
Choose File, then Add to Dock. (In Chrome or Edge on a Mac, use their Install button instead.)
Firefox on a computer
Firefox can't install games as apps. Bookmark the game instead, or open it in Chrome or Edge to install it.
WHERE IT WORKS
- Computers with a mouse and keyboard: Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux.
- Phones and tablets, best held sideways.
- It needs an internet connection, even against bots, because the game runs on TRI_BOI's server.
FOR PARENTS
Every player is treated as under 13. There's no chat: players can only send a few fixed messages like "Ahoy!" and "Good game!". Nobody types a name. Your child's name is a made-up one from their TRI_BOI player, like SwiftFox27, the same in every TRI_BOI game, and it's the only thing another player sees.
The battles are cartoon cannon fights between ships: nobody is shown getting hurt, and a sunk ship is back in its harbor a few seconds later. Nothing about your child is collected or saved, and there are no ads or trackers.
