PRIMAL FRONTIER
You wake up on the beach of an island full of dinosaurs with nothing but a handful of berries. Gather wood and stone, craft tools and clothes, build a base, knock out and tame dinosaurs, ride them, and team up with friends to beat the island's bosses. The world keeps going between visits, so your base and your creatures are there when you come back.

WHAT YOU DO
Keep your survivor alive: eat, drink, stay warm in the snow and cool near the volcano. Everything you do earns experience, and each level lets you make yourself stronger and learn new things to craft.
- Gather and craft: chop trees, mine rocks and pick berries. Make stone and metal tools, spears, bows, six kinds of armour, medicine, saddles and much more.
- Build: foundations, walls, doors, roofs, storage boxes, beds, fires and workshops, in thatch, wood, stone and metal. Only you and the friends you share with can open your doors and boxes.
- Tame: 28 kinds of creatures, from trilobites to triceratops, raptors, mammoths and the T. rex. Knock one out gently, feed it its favourite food, and it's yours. Tamed creatures follow you, guard your base, carry things, and the big ones can be ridden. Some fly and some swim.
- Explore: a big island with jungle, grasslands, redwoods, frozen mountains, a volcano, a poisonous swamp, ancient ruins, caves and outer islands, with notes left by old explorers and caches to find.
- Beat the bosses: find the artifacts, bring them to the altars, and fight the Jungle Overlord, the Frost Titan and, last of all, the Primeval Guardian deep in the sealed facility.
- Play together: up to 16 survivors in a world. Make a party of up to 6 to share your base and creatures, give each other things, and talk with emotes and pings on the map. There are two worlds: in Frontier survivors can't hurt each other; in Wildlands they can, away from the beach.
HOW TO PLAY
On a computer: move with W A S D (Shift to run). Hold the mouse button to hit, chop and mine where you point. 1–8 picks what's in your hand, E uses what's near you, I is your bag, C is crafting and M is the map. R rides your creature and F gets off.
On a phone or tablet: drag on the left side of the screen to move, and use the buttons on the right to attack, use, run and ride.
The How to play box on the game's first screen has the rest, and the quests on screen show you what to do first.
PUT IT ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
The best way to play is from Primal Frontier's own icon on your desktop or home screen. It opens like an app, without the browser around it. Press Play it now first, then:
Windows or Chromebook (Chrome or Edge)
Click the Install button at the right of the address bar. Or open the browser's menu (⋮ or …) and choose Install Primal Frontier (in Edge: Apps, then Install this site as an app).
iPhone or iPad
In Safari, tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android phone or tablet
In Chrome, tap the menu (⋮), then Add to Home screen or Install app.
Mac (Safari)
Choose File, then Add to Dock. (In Chrome or Edge on a Mac, use their Install button instead.)
Firefox on a computer
Firefox can't install games as apps. Bookmark the game instead, or open it in Chrome or Edge to install it.
WHERE IT WORKS
- Computers with a keyboard and mouse: Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux.
- Phones and tablets, with the controls on the screen. A bigger screen turned sideways is best.
- It needs the internet: every world runs on our server, and that's where your survivor is kept.
FOR PARENTS
Every player is treated as under 13. There's no chat: players talk with a fixed list of short phrases (like "Hello!" and "Follow me!") and pings on the map. Nobody types a name. Your child's name is a made-up one from their TRI_BOI player, like SwiftFox27, the same in every TRI_BOI game, and it's the only thing other players see. Tamed creatures get names from a list too.
Nothing about your child is collected, and there are no ads or trackers. Our server keeps their survivor (its level, bag, buildings and creatures) under their player's random id, never their name, and forgets it if the player is deleted.
There is hunting and fighting with dinosaurs, clubs, spears and bows, in a pixel cartoon style. Nothing is gory: a survivor who falls wakes up again on the beach. In the Wildlands world players can fight each other away from the beach; in the Frontier world they can't.
If your family enjoys our games, you can leave a tip. It's never needed to play.
