WHAT YOU DO
- Travel the world: 34 real places to fish, each with its own land, water, weather, time of day and fish. New places open as you level up.
- Catch real fish: 164 kinds, from bluegill and bass to salmon, catfish, tarpon, tuna and marlin. Each one likes its own water, depth, time of day, season and bait, and the fish book tells you what it knows.
- Rig your tackle: rods, reels, lines, hooks, floats, lures and baits that have to fit together. Too light a line or no wire leader, and the fish gets away.
- Cast, strike and fight: cast with the wind in mind, watch the float, strike at the right moment, then play the fish with the drag and the rod until it's tired enough to land.
- Keep or release: sell your catch at the market, mount a trophy, or let it go. Some fish are protected and always go back.
- Boats and tournaments: ten boats from a kayak to a deep-sea vessel, tournaments against other anglers, records and challenges.
- With friends: fish the same water online with up to 7 friends, in a public room or a private one with a code, and talk with emotes. Online play is new and still being tested.
HOW TO PLAY
On a computer: walk with W A S D and look with the mouse. Hold the left mouse button and let go to cast, hold it to reel, and press Space when a fish bites. In a fight, the mouse wheel sets the drag and A D pull the rod; press E to land the fish. Tab opens your tackle box, M the world map, J the fish book and Esc the menu. A game controller works too.
On a phone or tablet: a stick on the screen to walk and buttons to cast, reel, strike and land.
Start on the dock at Lake Okeechobee with a beginner rod and some worms.
PUT IT ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
The best way to play is from Sim Fishing's own icon on your desktop or home screen. It opens like an app, full screen, without the browser around it. Press Play it now first, then:
Windows or Chromebook (Chrome or Edge)
Click the Install button at the right of the address bar. Or open the browser's menu (⋮ or …) and choose Install Sim Fishing (in Edge: Apps, then Install this site as an app).
iPhone or iPad
In Safari, tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Android phone or tablet
In Chrome, tap the menu (⋮), then Add to Home screen or Install app.
Mac (Safari)
Choose File, then Add to Dock. (In Chrome or Edge on a Mac, use their Install button instead.)
Firefox on a computer
Firefox can't install games as apps. Bookmark the game instead, or open it in Chrome or Edge to install it.
WHERE IT WORKS
- Computers with a keyboard and mouse: Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux. It's a 3D game, so a newer computer runs it more smoothly; pick Low graphics in Settings on an older one.
- Phones and tablets, with a stick and buttons on the screen.
- Your game is saved on the device by itself. With a TRI_BOI account, it follows you to your other devices.
FOR PARENTS
Every player is treated as under 13. There is no chat: online, players can only send a few fixed messages like "Nice catch!" and mark spots on the water. Your child's angler is called by the made-up name from their TRI_BOI account, never a typed one. Nothing about your child is collected, and there are no ads or trackers.
Fish are caught and can be kept, sold or released; the game rewards letting fish go, and protected kinds must always be released.
If your family enjoys our games, you can leave a tip. It's never needed to play.
